Wolfe Pointe
Location: Wolfe Point - Lewes, Delaware
Description: 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath, 3700 sqft home with views of Wolfe Glade and the Cape Henlopen State Park. Designed by David Quillin Architecture, this house will likely score "Emerald," which is the highest level of certification with the National Green Building Standard. Radient floor heating, geo-thermal cooling, solar hot water, solar PV, tankless hot water back-up, energy star appliances are a few of the energy efficient features of the home. The building envelop and portions of the roof are constructed of SIP (Structural Insulated Panels). Along with the passive heating and cooling features, the residence will also have three green roof areas for gardening and relaxing. Other "green" elements include dual flush toilets, PEX manifold plumbing, American Clay wall treatment, polished concrete floors, eco friendly paints, and bamboo flooring.

The main goal with a Zero Energy Home is to become energy independent, producing all that you will consume and consuming only what you need.
The initial cost is typically more compared to conventional construction but your investment will pay off in the long run. Also, many state and federal rebates and grants are available to homeowners who want to build a Zero Energy Home – the time to act is now
